DH and I are superstitious so we prefer not to open gifts until after the baby comes. How do I politely say thank you to people who buy us gifts in advance without hurting their feelings? Last night we had a big delivery from people at work (their names were on the outside). I told everyone that I didn't want a shower so they had gifts sent to my house instead!. I already told one of my co-workers that we aren't opening gifts yet so I hope she will pass this along to the others that she chipped in with so they know I'm not being rude!
Also, today, 2 clients stopped by to drop off gifts. It is so thoughtful that I want them to know how much I appreciate this but I really don't feel comfortable opening anything yet!
What to do?
