Toddler Moms - How much flouride in their vitamins?

This is for the LI Moms whose kids get vitamins with flouride.

I was just refilling my boys vitamin prescriptions. and was told that my 3 1/2 yr old should be getting .5mg of flouride, while the 2yr old still gets .25

Do any of you NOT give flouride vitamins?

Ive heard from the pediatric dentist that there is NO need for them to get all this flouride *IF* they are using toothpaste with flouride (and if so they can use a reg vitamin/and FL vitamin every other day, switching back and forth. if they have NON FL toothpaste they should have the FL vitamin... yes this is confusing. But she said too much FL can cause white stains of their teeth.

Opinions? What kinds of vitamins are your kids on, how much FL? toothpaste?

My son (6 1/2) has vitamins with 1.0mg of flouride. He just started those when he turned 6 and his pediatrician said he'd stay on those through his teens. My daughter (4 1/2) is still on .5mg. They get flouride treatments at the dentist 2x per year. I have no idea if the toothpaste has flouride in it or not, they use Colgate Total, same as dh and I.

My son is 15 months old and he gets .5mg in his vitamin drops.
