Can someone explain to me OPK's?
I want to try them this month to know exactly when I "O."
So how exactly do they work?
and
What brand should I get?
(All I know is that I should test at work  )

ha ha yes you're supposed to test between 12noon and 8pm with OPKs so most of the time Im testing at work!!
I have used 2 kinds...I like both. One is the Rite Aid brand OPKs that I bought online at www.drugstore.com It says there are only 5 per box but there are really 7. The price is good and they work GREAT!!
The other kind of OPK is the Internet cheapies that I bought on www.fertilinet.com and they work very well too.
The pros about Rite Aid brand are they are easier to use at work because they are in a case and you just hold the tip int your urine stream. The Internet cheapies are good because they are cheap - but you have to pee in a cup and dip the strip in. Which, can be a pain at work but I do it anyway!
Many women O about 14 days from when AF starts. You can tell you are getting ready to O when your CM (cervical mucas) changes and starts to get heavier. Start testing with OPKs around this time. After you O, your temps will rise and your CM will dry up. OPKs will not get a positive surge line result after you O. Once you get the positive surge line on your OPK, you will usually O within 24-48 hours, so that's the time you should BD your heart out!

I just want to make sure I get this right--
So I buy the tests, how many come in a pack?
Then I start peeing on the stick and I wait till I get the double line?
I figure I should start next Saturday (day 9) and do it every day until day I get the lines. My cycles are shorter than most of the girls on here (normally 25 days... and now 27)

A positive result on your OPK is when the test line is as dark as, or darker than the control line.
