I feel unproductive
I am on maternity leave and was hoping you ladies can help me get a routine going so that I don't sit on my butt all day while the baby is sleeping. Any advice or suggestions on how i can feel more productive will be great, TIA !

HI I am on maternity as well but only until the end of November. I def take advantage of my DD early morning nap and take it with her. Then we get up, eat, she watches Einstein while I clean up and take a shower. I try to get out at least once a day either to a store or for a walk. I am looking for other moms to walk with me. Where do you live? I have also started to cook dinner. Trying new recipes which is kind of fun. I have also started to get back into reading. Other than that, I am always looking for other ideas too!

I do Stroller Mamas Monday Wed and Friday, We go to different parks and do exercise 10:30-11:30 . Where do you live. I usually get home around noon on those days feed the girls lunch then put them down for a nap when they wake up around 2:30 3 we go out to a store and walk around for an hour or two.

I know what you mean- I felt the same way for the first two weeks. Now I'm so busy! Thursdays I have lunch with my best friend- I meet her at work & we go some place local for a quick bite. I go for a walk every morning- now that the weather is cool its much nicer.
I just found a great moms group in my area that I am joining- they have playgroups for 2006 babies (really just moms socializing!), walking groups, and monthly meetings. I liked that it was only $30 to join for the year. Other mom groups I found were so expensive. So I'll be busy with that at least once a week. I also run errands a lot- supermarket, post office, walk around the mall- DD sleeps great in the infant carrier/stroller so she doesn't miss any naps while I'm out with her.

ETA: I'm also going to start going to Reel Moms- movies for moms on Tuesday mornings- you can bring your baby. Reel Moms at Roosevelt Raceway theater

wow i just checked out MOMs and realized there was one in my town. I emailed them for more information.
I also feel like a bum. its so hard to get anything done because Jiavana likes to be held 24/7 yet when we are out for the day (shopping) she is sooooo well behaved.
