White Noise Machines

Does anyone have a White Noise machine that they can reccommend? We are currently using a radio tuned between stations for Noah at night but every once in a while we get transmissions for a taxi firm. It doesn't wake the baby up, but he has been taking some bookings (boom boom)

But seriously, I am in NY next month and as I can't seem to find a White Noise machine in the UK for under $100, I will get one while there.

I saw one in the One Step Ahead catalog and I think Sharper Image has them.

i got mine from jcpenny, its tiny and the noise is awesome, i cant sleep w/o it

Well, it's not exactly a white noise machine, but I used Slumber Bear made by Prince Lionheart. It is a machine that plays actual womb sounds. It goes into "rest" when the baby is asleep/quiet, but kicks back on if the baby cries or touches it. We loved it...great product for us! I know it's at both BBB and BRU.

I have one, but my Mom got it for me so I dont know where she bought it from. But DH and I use a fan, works like a charm.

I have the Sharper Image one - we use it at night to drown out hubby's snoring. Love that thing!!

I was gonna get one, but found that turning on his monitor to the static works wonders!! Been using it now the past 3 nights and he's been sleeping 6-7 hrs straight with it. I'm a little spooked out by actual white noise, after seeing that movie, I hope I dont get any messages from anyone that passed on!!

I'll just die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a "soothing sounds" cd at BRU that was on sale for $7. It has a fan, vacuum, white noise, running water, and car ride sounds. Each runs for 11 minutes.

We got this one at Babies R Us. Sound Sleeper. It has lots of different noise settings and a timer if you want it to shut off at some point. It plugs in or uses batteries.
We used to use the Womb setting and now we use Rain which sounds a lot like white noise.
It was $19.99

you need to download itunes. you can then search for white noise. then buy it for $10. you can then either put it on your ipod or burn a CD
