Is there a brand of umbrella that doesn't break after two uses?
Because I break EVERY SINGLE one after two or three uses!

YES! Buy a Totes. They are like $20 but last a long time. And if they break, and you kept the tag, they'll replace it. You just pay $3 shipping.

I just got one at KMart that has 2 overlapping layers so that the wind blows through it instead of flipping it inside out... pretty cool and it's big..I'll look to see who makes it.

I had a totes umbrella with a wooden handle, that lasted a while. The smaller ones don't last as long.

I use an Eddie Bauer wind umbrella. I've had it for 2 years and I use it for NYC commuting, it's in my bag everyday and has never failed me, and never turned inside out.

I've been looking for one of those 70's style clear plastic ones that go completely over you - I figure it'll keep me safe from those crazy people who have no regard for the EYES of others!!!!
I ahven't been able to find one though!

i got one at men's warehouse whcih is supposed to be windproof. So far so good. DH also got a windproof one at Bloomingdales- adn it worked- until he lost it.

NAUTICA umbellas! I have a nice big one. Doesn't look too bad either.
You can buy them at bed, bath, and beyond.

They used to call them "bubble" umbrellas - if that helps your search

I have one of those - it is actually a collapsible cover for the umbrella - we used to have collapsible drinking cups like it when we were kids. It is awesome if you use public transportation, because you slide it down over the umbrella, and all the excess water drips down inside of it, instead of rubbing up against your pants and getting them all wet. I like to call it the "umbrella condom"

I have the BEST umbrella! Its the GustBuster from Brookstone. I worked down on Wall St for years (it gets so windy down there when it rains) and now am in Chicago where the wind is insane...and the umbrella is perfect!!
I've had it for 4 years so I don't know if Brookstone still carries it, but I'm sure someone does...
