Rock Star: INXS
What'd you think of last night?? Were you surprised that Ty got the boot?? I think he's awesome, although maybe not right for INXS.

I think Ty has an awsome voice, but he is not a rocker to me. I mean he looks the part, but his sound is almost too polished. His attitude in the last couple of episodes irritated me too. The whole soul thing, Marty has soul, Susie has soul, Mig has soul. It is not just a type of music. It is a way of being and singing from a place so intimate, so powerful that the listener can't help but be moved. Ty, only did that for me once. Then, when he blamed his being voted out on racism he totally lost me.

I think he is great but not a rocker.
When he said "MY people" - was he talking about black people or gay people? DH and I were confused...or did he mean black gay people?

I know. I was disappointed that he did that. It made me think less of him.
I was a little surprised that it was Ty and not Jordis. I thought her answer of being "a young open book" was worse than Ty's contant blathering about soul.
Jordis is the one I see least as a front person for INXS. I'm still rooting for MiG or Suzie.
I dislike JD intensely!!!

I think he meant black people because there have been references in the past from him about the under-representation of African Americans in Rock and Roll and he was carrying this weight for all of them.

OK well, he was gay too...because straight black rockers with mohawks aren't going to start blubbering when they get voted of a realtiy TV show (Im so mean today!  )

If I had been one of the remaining comtestants I would have been so angered by his comment. He sounded jaded and arrogant.

I was disappointed when he thought it was racism as well.
As for the others....I love Jordis' voice, but don't think she's right for the band...J.D. bugs the cr@p out of me...Suzie is awesome, again though I don't know if I could see her being the singer of INXS...I really like Marty and I  Mig!!!!!

I like Jordis's voice, but she has no range. She bottoms out when she goes into her lower register and she can only scream in her upper.
Suzie has a great voice. I did not LOVE her on Bohemian Rapsody though. She hit some real clunkers note wise and I think that the song loses part of its intensity when a female sings it. You lose the amazing Mercury high notes.
Mig has a great voice and control. Its obvious that he actually has learned about his instrument. During his performance he hit one note that was just a hair flat and I could see him making little adjustment trying to get it to the correct pitch. I love to see smart singers.
Marty is a superstar!!!! He doesn't have the greatest voice, but he has IT!! He is just so compelling to watch and he brings a unique style to his performance. To top it all off, he is nice. He seems like someone that I would want to work with. The rock world needs someone like him IMHO. Am I sure that Inxs should be his vehicle? Not yet.
JD- He has a decent voice and he is cute, but he is an a$$hole. I think that the only reason he is still there is because he makes the house a little more exciting.

I am not too crazy about any of them, but I do like JD, now before I get flamed he is a JERK!! and wayyyy to self-centered, and when he talks about himself in the third person, it's sooo annoying but think about he does have that classic rocker attitude...lol I think he'd do well as a solo artist. JMO
Seriously from the beginning I thought Mig was the best fit!
I like Jordis too but I don't think her voice is strong enough and last night when she sang her INXS song, she had such a look of defeat, i really think she thought she was going home and it showed in her performance.
