anyone work on the upper east side??/also need subway help...

I need to get to

E. 101st and 1st Ave

I am coming from Queens, and starting from the 71st/COntinetnal Stop...

Also...how is this area? bad/good?

Hey, Can't really help with the subway up there, I've only driven to the area but, I can say the area is OK, but, really not the greatest - there are some housing projects. The area is MUCH different than the west side and 100th street (which is a better area - though, not the best).

Also, I'm not sure about that far uptown but, I know generally, on the east side, the subway lets you off around lexington and there is no subway by 1st ave. I'm not sure what time of day you are going but, I'm not sure I'd want to walk the 3 avenues at night. Maybe check out the bus? Again, though, the subway stops might be different up there.

Michi, either take the E to 51st and Lex and Transfer to the 6

or

take the R to 59th and Lex and transfer to the 6.

Take the 6 to 103rd St. You will have to walk east 3 block to 1st, and south two blocks to 101st.

That area is not totally the greatest... mainly because to get there you have to walk through some housing projects.

NOT a good thing if you are walking around by yourself at night. You are also a good 5-10 min walk from the train station.

If its just one time it won't be too big of a deal. But if this is something you would be doing regularly... like a job... i wouldn't recommend it.
