we have a bassinet next to the bed....do you think I should try feeding her in bed during the night feedings? Or should I go to another room?

there is NO way that the dogs will readjust to not sleeping with us, unless they do it on their own. I'm just thinking of them getting all up in our "business" while feeding her

We have a bassinet in our room too and Rocky sleeps in our bed sometimes. I can see him already getting up in our business when it's time to feed him. I honestly think he'll follow me to whatever room I'm inChat Icon He's so curious about everything. I think I'm going to try going into the living room to feed him and see how that works out.

Do you have room to put a rocker/glider in the bedroom with you so that you can feed in the chair and then return to bed?

Also if you got the co-sleeper that goes in the bed for breastfeeding -- would that help with the dog? Honestly the dog might sniff a few times but then he'd probably leave you all alone. Our dogs (we have two) sniffs Emily once in a while but really isn't all that bothered by her.

I think at first they are curious but then get used to the new addition to the family!! I guess you'll have to see what happens!! Or try another room maybe.

My dog Cleo sleeps with us too, and she is so dead tired at night and cranky if i get up to go to the bathroom or kick her too many times or if she gets hot she jumps out of bed on her own and sleeps in her own bed next to ours. Maybe you can try that? Have their own bed next to yours so they know if they get woken up they can go somewhere and not be disturbed.

There is no way our dog would adjust now to not sleeping with us. I'm gonna try to keep the baby in the co-sleeper during the night and bf in bed. I'm hoping she will not feel threatened since she will still be in the bed too. We'll see, only time will tell.

I have the bassinet set up next to our bed too. We have 2 dogs that sleep with us. I had DH set up the rocking chair in our room, so I can get up and feed the baby during the night in that chair. The dogs will then not be able to get their noses into the baby's face during a feeding.

we could squeeze the glider in, but it'd be on the other side of the bed. I won't get the co-sleeper because I don't want her in the habit of sleeping in the bed with us, besides....one dog is always between us Chat Icon

I'm sure they'll adjust, I was just curious to see how other dog owners handled it. Her nursery is across the hall just a few steps so I could always go in there

The co-sleeper we are getting attaches to the side of the bed. The baby is not actually sleeping in your bed.
