Nano vs. Regular Ipod

my current Ipod is slowly dying and it's only 2 years old Chat Icon so i am faced with the harsh reality that it is time to purchase a new one.

I can't decide b/t the nano and the regular Ipod.

I currently have a regular ipod and it has 1,200 songs on it but honestly...I skip thru and never listen to almost half of them.

The nano is super cute...but i don't want to regret not getting a regular one...Please help me decide Chat Icon

I have the Nano also but I really don't have that many songs on there. DH has the regular IPOD and he loves it because he can just download all of his cds and skip around listening to the different types of music. I think its worth it to get the regular one if there are a lot of songs that you like to listen to, otherwise I'd go with the Nano.

The biggest one can hold up to 1,000 songs.

I have the Nano as well. but I have a HUGE pet peeve with the Apple software (iTunes) though... every time I charge the iPod my songs disappear or go into other categories! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Is it really that difficult to decide? I say go for the regular one. Even the iPod w/Video is tiny compared with some MP3 players from a year or 2 ago. Very small and very portable. A little bit more money but definitely will aleviate any regrets.

bumping this thread, b/c I want to get DH one for his bday in 2 weeks.

If I read this correctly, does it mean that the Nano, you cannot download your current CDs and you can on the iPOD? I'm so clueless about these things, and I'm totally an IT geek! Chat Icon DH has sooooooooooo many CDs you'd think our house and his car was a Tower Records or something! I would love to get him something he can use his current CD collection with.

Also, do you need to have a MAC computer in order to have an iPOD or Nano to download music?

Thanks!

You an download all your songs into the Nano, but you have a certain amount of memory, I think something like 1 or 2 gigs. The newest Ipod(video) has 30 or 60gig which holds thousands of songs, videos, and TV shows. You do not need a mac, you just have to download the ITunes software into your PC and from there it will update your ipod or nano.
