So I wanna plan a day
for me, DH, DS and maybe some friends to take the ferry somewhere-
I was thinking like Mystic Seaport- or Fire Island....
Im looking for a beach, boardwalk, little shops, restaurants...etc....(I know DH isnt a beach person- so I wanna make sure there are other things to do once we get there!)
Can anyone recomend anything?
Also- one of the friends really wants to go to coney island... so I guess I could throw that into the mix too...
Any input?

Coney Island is fun....but obviously you aren't taking a ferry there...

OK well- I havent been to fire Island in years 
Is there other options than just laying out on the beach???
Obviously Im not taking the ferry to coney Island.....  But Ive never been there- so thought it would be different....
Why do you think its too much for DS???

i was there a few years back now
Fire Island..has the little shops, the board walk and the beach
Since ferry isn't a must...what about Montauk? Or Greenport?

Kinda young for the rides???? Or is there other stuff to do there (I wasnt like questioning you in a bad way- Im just trying to figure out what there!) We arrnt really ride people... so if thats all there is to do... than it wouldnt work for me!
Montauks been done a bajillion times.... Ive never been to greenport though...
Stupid question...
With Fire Island- do you just get off the ferry and everythings there? Or do you kinda gotta know what you are doing...?

WHen i went to coney island i felt like it was mostly rides and games and stuff
We also went to the aquarium that day too
Fire Islans is very big so you do kinda need to know where you want to go..
