Structural/code question
Do homes HAVE to have a door to access the back/side yard in the kitchen? Is there some safety code or something in regard to that?

not that I've ever heard of. Homes need to have more than one door, but i don't believe the second one must be in the kitchen. i think of lot of homes are set up that way because its convenient though.

Call your town zoning department and they should be able to tell you what the code is. We live in Islip town and had tons of questions about possibly expanding our house and they were very helpful.
