quick dr help if any1 is online?drs? nurses?

a long time ago i had extreme dizziness cause of an ear infection that happened when my ears got tooo filledwith wax..today i am soooo dizzzy that the room wont stop spinning... i am thinking its the same thing and i need relief--they usually irigate ur ear with hyrogenperoxide and then remove the wax...the hydrogen perioxide unsticks all that wax... awhile ago the dr said i could do this on my own once in awhile to prevent wax buildup but i never did it.. i think i need to..i am sooo dizzy and have no insurance yet still!...need some quick opinions..any drs/nurses online? or any1 who can offer advice

I am not a doctor or nurse but when I was little and had earaches my mom used that blue bulb thing with warm water in my ear. That helped me. I am not sure -- if it is serious how about going to a clinic - loosing your hearing is not good nor something to play arround with.

I use Hydrogen Peroxide at least once a week for cleaning ears...
I have never had a ear infection...

So it is working for me.

If i were you i would listen to the advice the doctors gave you and go get some or have someone go get it for you.

They sell ear wax removers at the drug store- dh tried it.
It may be worth it to try- it comes with the solution and the bulb thing.

Re: quick dr help if any1 is online?drs? nurses?

when we were younger, my mother used to clean out our ears with hydrogen peroxide and q-tips.
she'd put our head sideways on her lap, so our ear would be facing her and then pour a capfull of the HP into the ear and let it sit for a bit...it would bubble and tickle and the wax would rise to the surface and she would clean it out with the qtip. then we would flip over and do the other ear.
it's hard to do on your own, but it is possible and it feels so much better when you're done!

this is EXACTLY what i was going to recommend. lie down on one side and pour a capful of PB into the ear. let it sit for about a minute. it will bubble and itch but makes the ear feel SO much better. repeat on the other side.

make an appt w/ an ENT asap. i used to have yearly inner-ear infections and when i would let it go for more than a couple days i was in extreme pain. it might be an infection and not a result of the wax build-up.

i was going to say the same thing, too.

but be careful when you're doing it- dont flop your head to the other side too quicly, or you'll just make yourself even more dizzy.

i wasn't going to share this because i find it extremely gross but 2 years ago i had a horrible ear infection. not much different than the ones i would get EVERY year except it was very itchy and burned. the ENT did some cultures and told me that it was a........ YEAST INFECTION. :Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i questioned if he could be incorrect and he said it is not uncomon and often mistaken for an ear infection. anyway, he prescribed some drops and antibotics and i have been clear of infections ever since.
