2nd Trimester
I'm in my 16th week. All the books I have read indicate that this is the easiest one, that your energy picks up, etc. But, I still feel so weak and tired and am constantly getting dizzy spells. I've also been getting really bad headaches and nausea. Ugh!!!
Anyone else not having a second trimester "picnic"?

I thought parts of my second trimester was worse than the 1st even though I wouldn't say horrible - I just thought it wasn't as great....but more around growth spurts. But I did have great days - it went back and forth throughout. for me - it may have been some early signs that I had gestational diabetes. It was never so bad that it stopped me from anything but I often felt worse than I did in the first trimester.

Are you taking any iron? Maybe you're a little anemic? If you had any blood tests recently the doc would know that answer....

A friend of mine who is a nurse just told me she thinks I'm anemic...I'm going to ask my doc about it at my next appt. Thanks.

I didn't have the "energy burst" I kept hearing about when you get into the 2nd trimester. It took me a week or 2 but eventually felt like I had a bit more energy...

The begining of the 2nd trimester was no different then my first.... then I got the enegry burst about 15 or 16 weeks... and as it comes to an end... the fatigue is slowly coming back...
Everyone is different though. try and rest!

I'm almost 22 weeks...I actually do feel a little more energized, however, I don't think this trimester is any better than the first. I now get heartburn from almost everything I eat. My nose is getting wider and some days it really hurts.
