I worked for an environmental engineering consulting company and I worked with a few clients that did tank abandonments and upgrades.

Try Lewis Oil.

BTW, you can not abandon an underground storage tank (UST) in Suffolk County. Not sure where you are.

We used M.A.Y Tank Company of East Patchogue. They removed any sludge and old oil from the tank and filled it with foam. They gave us a receipt that served as the certificate of abandonment. We had a tank in the ground that was getting pretty old and didn't want to take any chances on it splitting. We did this two years ago and they charged $450.00. I'd recommend them. They did a good job. I live in Suffolk; don't know where you live and don't know how far they travel. I would guess that they would pretty much service most of Long Island.

Years ago I used Petro to abandon my father's tank. We already had a conract with them at the time and they offered interest free payments on it for 12 months. They also installed the new tank (outside) and ran oil lines into the house etc.
