Spin-off to "Manners" post
when someone sneezes, do you say "bless you"? (or some variation of that)
I just started a new position within my company and NO ONE around me says bless you! I don't know why, but this bothers me!
for me, it's an automatic reflex - like breathing. if someone sneezes, I always say bless you.

I say bless you to every single person who I can hear that sneezes. Sometimes, its a little out of control but I do it!
However, someone doesnt always reciprocate.

I think it has something to do with back before modern medicine, when people though sneezing was a sign of serious illness that could lead to death.

I even say it to people who sit across the room in other departments. My co-workers laugh at me b/c it's so automatic.....

I sometimes don't say it if my step-daughter sneezes (she's 10)....then if DH and I are sitting there, she will say, "aren't you supposed to say something"

DH doesn't always say it, and I always "yell" at him when he forgets!

I say it unless the person sneezes like 5 times in a row, then I think I would sound more annoying than them - so I only say it once then!

somthing to the fact of evil and you bless the person, i forgot the whole thing
as for saying it i say it to everyone except those who i know your not supposed too but sometimes i slip because it is so natural.... my mom on the other hand  we have just gotten to the point of saying my mom is a , and she sneezes about 10 times. i think her record is 15 there is only so much blessing you can do for one person!
