Attorneys / legal people, I have a question.
While in NC, coming home, my DH and I were stopped by the state police. My DH rcvd. a speeding ticket for doing 70 in a 55 zone. Fine. He accepted the ticket. We get home and that week I took the ticket, got a money order to pay it and mailed it certified mail. I did this to make sure my DH paid it...you know how some guys can be. I didn't want him to wait til last minute.
Well, I know he signed it when the police officer gave it to him. So I made copies of everything and he is looking at it today. Well, he never signed the part where it says "I accept the guilty plea, etc"!!!! I already mailed it with the payment!!!
What should we do? I mean, I know whoever gets the ticket, it is obvious our intent is to pay it and move on. But since he never signed it, what do we do now? Should we call the court on Tuesday? (I am assuming they are closed tomorrow). So now I am mad at myself for not looking at that part of it and my DH is mad that I never brought it all home for him to look at it. It's a mess. But whatever...I don't care about that. I just don't want him to get in trouble!!!

Re: Attorneys / legal people, I have a question.
Not an attorney (althought worked in a law firm for a bit), but since DH has had his license suspended etc, I have plenty of experience with speeding tickets.
I would call on Tuesday to talk to them. If anything, they would mail it back to you with a note for him to sign the guilty plea. The check/money order does indicate intent to plead guilty, however for their records I'm sure they'd want his signature.
