did dh stay overnight wi/ you at the hospital
the other day I got a pamphlet for st charles and they said that visiting hours for dads are 10 am to 10 pm-- I was under the impression that he could stay with me. I hate hospitals ( with everything that happened with my mom)
and I would like it much better if he stayed with me- he would prefer that also. Does anyone know if this is poss.

DH did not stay overnight with us once I got to my postpartum room. I lucked out and got a double room without a roommate, so he slept there most of the day. He could have stayed the night, but My mom came from NY so I told DH to go home.
Call and see if they'll make an exception.

I am going to St. Charles and I thought they could stay. My DH was planning on staying because I HATE hospitals. I am going to call or ask my Dr. and see what they say. If you find out keep me posted.

The dad can stay at St. Charles as long as he wants. Everyone else has to abide by the visiting hours. They are very strict!
St Charles is a beautiful hospital...it won't even feel like your're in one...

I delivered at St. Charles also, and LOVED it. They are not terribly strict with DH's visiting hours, but I don;t think they'd let him stay. The only way they can stay overnight is if you pay for one of the private rooms (which are beautiful, but I believe $150 per night that is not covered by insurance).
DH did not stay with me, and the baby was in the nursery for most of the night, so I got to get some good rest.

Scott stayed with me every single night for 5 days (c/s recovery) and I thank God he was there. I had a very difficult recovery and the nurses are my hospital were the WORST. I even kept Molly with me 24 hours. (I was in Nassau University...it was a total mess of a place!)
Anyway I would pay the money for the private room...but that is just me.

I will pay the extra money. I don't want him to leave nor do i think i could get him to leave even if i wanted him to. He is affraid he might miss something and he doesn't want me to be alone after having the baby. Thanks for saying something about the fee I am going to have to ask about that and make sure i have a private room.
