I always wondered about this too. Bella is on stage 2 nipples (she's 4 months). I just changed it b/c it seemed like she was su-cking too hard to get the formula out.

When it starts taking over 1/2 hr to feed the baby and also when they look like they are putting way too much effort in sucking. I switched DD to Stage 2 nipples when she was a little over 3 mos. It took her a couple of days to get used to it .
