I need a small gift for my neice who's leaving for college Sunday...
... any ideas? I just want to give her something little for a going away present.

Do you know if she got everything she needs yet? A shower caddy, shower shoes, a robe, extra-long sheets, alarm clock, etc.

Maybe a care package - with snacks in it - microwave popcorn, chocolate, granola bars, pop tarts, and snack packages of cookies, crackers, pretzels, etc. and drinks like cocoa, instant coffees and teas, maybe some cup of soups. I loved it when my mom would bring these up for me.

That is exactly what I am doing for my nephew that goes to college next week. He always comes to my house and snacks so I plan on putting all of these things in a box for him

A roll (or two) of quarters is a great idea. My mom used them to me when I was in college -- and they were ALWAYS appreciated!

all good ideas with the exception of the quarters -
college laundry rooms now use the college ID swipe cards with money on them instead of quarters.
My FAVORITE "going away to college" present was a "spa in a can". It was a paint can that my Mom threw together for us. It had face scrubs, masques, manicure tools, nail polish, etc for 4 people. We all liked mani/pedis, but couldn't afford them as college students! We'd have a "spa night" during the week so we'd be alllll pretty for the weekend.

Whoops...I already gave her the gift basket- I put all the things you guys mentioned into a shower caddy along with a roll of quarters. Oh well, if she doesn't need them, she can use them for something else- college kids always need money- even if it is rolled coin!
