sorry another teacher question
I am getting things set up for my classroom helpers board (1st grade) What jobs do you give your kids, I'm looking for other ideas. SO far I have line leader/ended, librarian, closets, sweepers, blackboards, pencils, messengers. Am I missing anything? TIA!

in third grade i have two class helpers for the week- a boy and a girl.. they are my assts for the week. they are my line leaders, messengers etc.. I have their names on index cards and each week a new name is flipped.

Do your kids take anything (like balls) outside at recess? If so, that can be a job.
Also, Writing Center organizer or something like that?
Or assistant (like a paper helper)?
Chair checker (make sure all chairs are up)?

Office Helpers (take things to the office) Lunch Helpers (take lunch slip down) I also had an ambulance driver--someone to take sick kids to the nurse---the kids loved this!!!
And it also helped with..ohhh ohh can I take him to the nurse!

I have table monitors too, paper monitors, librarians (straighten book baskets) among those mentioned.

My job chart has the following on it:
Calandar
Weather/Temp
Number Line
Attendance
Days of the school year countdown
door monitor
floor/sweeper
chairs
plant monitor (yes, they have to water the plant every other day -- and lemme tell you they do a better job then I do! I kill it every summer and then every schoolyear it grows back!)
nurse monitor
office monitor
And then I have the 4 table monitors which is completely seperate -- so a kid could be the office monitor and the green table monitor at the same time -- and they put out the pencil cup, book bins, writing folders, whatever before I call their table to do their independent work.
