Why are people SO mean?
I just came back from internal affairs (I'm an attorney and my office represents the fraternal order of police). All the investigators and staff at internal affairs are usually SOOO sweet and are so involved in my pregnancy. So, I get there and the secretary is behind the desk and gets all excited, saying you're still here! Let me come around and see if you've dropped. So she comes around from the desk looks at me and says, oh no you haven't dropped, but I can tell you're definitely getting much more "hip-py".
I'm REALLY sensitive, crabby, grumpy, add any adjective you want to, and SHE of all people should know that considering she has kids and grandkids... what the hell was she thinking in saying that? Now I'm really upset  I'm self-conscious enough as it is about my 40+lb weight gain, thanks for making me even more aware of it...

People are so rude..everywhere I go peoples eyes go straight to my belly and they just stare... even if they arent trying to be rude...I cant help but feel self consicous...
Ooooo and I LOVE how people are like any day now huh?...and then I have to turn around and say no @sshole I know Im large but I still got a month to go
Ive gained about 40 lbs too..and I still got another month or so to go...and you know what Ive LOVED every bit of chocolate, ice cream, cookies and candy that got me there

You look great, don't believe otherwise!! People can be so insensitive and just don't know what to say to a pregnant woman - its totally uncalled for, but sometimes they just don't know how to approach and speak to a pregnant woman - its like we're out of this world or something!

Awwww...I don't think she meant it that way...it's a term some older women use to say you are getting ready to deliver. The hips widing are said to mean that your body is getting ready to push the little guy out.
I'm sorry she made you feel sad but I think she was trying to be encouraging!

Yup I have heard this too your pelvis widens to make room for your baby to come out.
Also an old wives tale clue that you may have a girl.
I don't think she meant to hurt you, people just don't think about what they are saying sometimes
