Would you go?? LOng and need advice asap.
My sister is dating a new guy. He doesnt live in the area but she mentioned last weekend he would be here on business this weekend. So I suggested we meet him then. She was so excited about it (she lives home with my mom and brother) and said that she would ask him over saturday night to meet everyone.
So fast forward to today..weve been talking about it all week, I was actually looking forward to it so much..I called my mom at around 1 today and asked what time he was coming so we could know what time to come over and she said she didnt know yet. So I told her to call me when she knew so my husband could stop working upstairs (hes working on the house) and I could get ready.
No phone call all day. So I call at 7 30 and my mom tells me he just got there. Then she calls me back 5 minutes later and says are you coming?? I am like, why didnt anyone tell me before??? Shes like I didnt have time to call..***??? My sister or brother couldnt call me either??????????
So then she laid the guilt trip on me, "if you dont come, I will never forgive you" type of thing and my sister texts me that "she cant believe I am not coming."..I am hurt that I was so looking forward to this and no one even called me. If I didnt call, were they going to call at all???
So my question is...would you make a run over there still or just forget it because you are mad and hurt?

I would go. It might be good to get out of the house today, sweetie. But make it known you are there to meet your sister's boyfriend, not because anyone guilted you.

i'd go... but mainly b/c you WANTED to go anyway. if it were for other reasons, i might think differently (like if it were just b/c you were guilted into it eventhough you didnt want to)... but theres no point in cutting your nose to spite your face, ya know?

A couple of blocks but the thing is, I am really hurt and mad! I dont wanna go with attitude but knowing myself, thats how I will sit there and why should I give off that first impression of myself when they made me like this today. I dont know what to do!!!!!!!!! UGH!

I would so go. Things like this happen all the time...you get so busy and your mom and sis were prob getting the house ready for him. Try not to take it personally. I know I would want to meet him.
ETA: Since you guys were talking about it all week, your sister prob felt it was a "done deal". It might be a little of your sensitive hormones. Have a good time!!

i agree. my family stinks at making plans, and i can get kind of bothered when the plans get changed (or i'm left in the dark) b/c i live far away, so it usually affect me the most, But... its Family.... and while making plans is nice, its not on the same plane as a scheduling thing that you'd expect in a work situation, etc.
