post p. Depression
My son is 2 years old now, and we are thinking about having another soon. My concern is that I had a really hard time with P.P.Depression and am scared to go though that again! I was an unexpected c-section and I think that played a huge role in it. I ended up pulling myself out of it after 4 or more months, but was wondering if anyone knows if you can breastfeed still if the doctor ends up giving me something (meds) to get me through it the next time around. Does anyone worry about this or has gone through this themselves??

Re: post p. Depression
I didnt go through PPD with my kids but my SIL was on anti-depressants while she was prego with my nephew and while she pumped BM so there are things you can take. Hopefully things will go the way you plan and you will avoid any PPD that comes with #2

Re: post p. Depression
I definitely worry about developing this. My DH is keeping a close eye on me because my midwives felt I am prone to it due to the high anxiety I had during my pregnancy. We did discuss anti depressants should the need come up and there are several you can take and still safely breast feed.

Re: post p. Depression
That's really good new's!! I just think that if i had to take something for a few months to help me along , that would make so much more sense rather than try to battle it on my own and drag it out longer. Then again, i may be jumping to conclusions, and may have no problem the second time around...
