OMG...WHY does she do this??? I can't get ANYTHING done

Alyson will wake up to eat, take the full 3 oz, fall asleep as she eats or as she is being burped, and the minute I put her down in the bassinett...WAKES UP!!

Then if I hold her, she'll fall asleep again. I held her for 3 hours last night!!

And if she stays up between feedings....she gets so overtired and cranky that she starts to cry.

It could be gas, or maybe she just dosent like the bassinett....???

Ryan did the same thing...he HATED his bassinett.... so for the 1st 2 months he slept in his carrier...Im not sure if it because it gave him the "womb" toght feeling, or if it was because he could see around him in the carrier...but either way...it was very successful...

@ 2.5 months to the crib he went, and gave us no problems whatsoever!

I know how you feel, i felt the same way but it does pass. she needs you right now because that is where her comfort and security come from. babies learn to trust through this process and when her cries are attended too that is how she learns that she can depend on you and DH because you attend to her needs.

I thought I would never cook a dinner or vaccuum again but we manage to get it all done now. I think around late 2 early 3 months things just started getting easier.

You just can schedule or a predict a baby that young but eventually she'll settle into a routine.

The thing that did work for me was trying to get her to sleep 1&1/2-2 hours from the time she woke up each time. When we started that naps got better but as you know there are times I still have to lay with Miranda but I try to just look at the positive and cherish these times because they will be gone so soon.

try the bjorn or maya wrap for her to sleep if if you need to get things done and she absolutely won't sleep without you. Or try the miracle blanket...that was the ONLY way I could put sidney down cause she felt like she was still being held. Good Luck!!!

I do...and she kicks her way out of it. She likes her arms out and in her sleep kicks because of the gas.

Do you have the Swaddle Me blanket? Hayley used to kick out when I swaddled her with a regular blanket. The swaddle me has velcro and rarely kicks out.

I does get better but takes time. She is so little and everything is new and you comfort her.

Kevin, when he was that young, never slept for naps anywhere but in my arms until he was about 3 months old and then it was only in the bouncer or swing. I spent a lot of time watching bad tv and online. The baby bjorn did help some so I could get some laundry done and stuff.

This just got me remembering the day I mastered BFing/napping while using the laptop. Ahhh the things we mothers do.
