Re: Christening Gift
I would say depending on your financial situation about $150 each.

Re: Christening Gift
Since DH is the godfather I would also get a prayer book or cross for the baby along with a savings bond...the amount depends on what you can afford. We have given $500 bonds to close friends kids which is $250 out of pocket.

Re: Christening Gift
I would give a cross or a nice piece of jewerly so she will one day know what her godfather gave her on her christening day.
Cash is always nice too.

Re: Christening Gift
When DH was a godfather, we did a diamond cross - arms of the cross were baguettes. I wanted to get a cross, she would wear when she was older rather than a baby cross since I'm not a big jewelry on a baby fan.

Re: Christening Gift
I would say $ over a bond. We cashed our daughter's bonds and it seemed like such a waste. You really get no interest and it takes YEARS for them to mature. My daughter is 16 & some of them weren't' fully mature. i say don't lend the govt your money. You're doing that everytime you get a paycheck. Off my sopabox now. I received clothes for my first 2 as well. i don't think there is a hard and fast rule. I would hope any gift would be apprieciated.
