I would say for most jobs doing your own search. For executive level, definitely a headhunter.
eta. For the techies, my company uses mainly headhunters.

I would say for most jobs doing your own search. For executive level, definitely a headhunter. I agree... even for non executive positions, you have nothing to lose by using a head hunter. the company that hires you pays them, so I say, why not use them?
