I have tried putting various things in there- cheese, eggs, she eats around them. The only thing she will sometimes eat is pancakes.

Just stick with it. We went through the exact same thing. I really think it's like a milestone in a way -- the whole food refusal thing, because it happens to so many babies at the same age! Just stick with it, keep offering her all kinds of things --- and she'll start taking them again little by little.
I feel like I wasted so much food and still do because she still refuses a lot...but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Keep trying. We kept trying & eventually he ate. Sometimes when I knew he was hungry, I would only put a few cheerios & more of whatever it was I wanted him to try.

I am going through the same thing, thus my threads on "finger foods for 8 month olds". I have a feeling my son's is related to teething again...is dd teething? I feel like feeding is the area that I get the least guidance in from ped, books, etc.

We are going through this too!! My DD doesn't want anything to do with jarred baby food. She only wants to feed herself. She will spit out whatever I give her and then try to gather it up and put it in her mouth herself. So annoying.

no words of wisdom for you.. jacob is going thru the same thing..  I swear these two should get married!! Both of them could stay up all night while not eating!!!!!!!!!

Yes, they would make a cute couple!
I think a lot of it is she wants to do it herself, but she still will only feed herself cheerios.

Ummm, I am sorry, but Noah and Katie are already promised to each other! Although with the capture of that polygamist, we can start out own sect...
Noah only really likes things with Tomato sauce, so its a bit limiting...but he seems to be getting better, so I would say INDULGE her, how long can a cheerios only diet go on for??? I mean, what 18 year old do you know who only eats Cheerios??? ps...Noah was up last night from 1.30 until almost 3, so I can join the club.
