PRK eye surgery

I am looking for information on this. My brother went in a week and a half ago to have Lasik eye surgery. Last minute the dr thought he should have PRK. THey did one eye and said they would do another eye in two weeks. He is in a lot of pain even a week and a half later. I feel terrible for him. An associate at this office saw him the next day and said she would have done Lasik. He will get Lasik in the other eye. If anyone has had PRK surgery, could you tell me your experience? He is having a tough time. Thank you so much!

FM peabody--I know she had PRK, and had a not so good experience with it.

I had PRK and my recovery was pretty bad, but not as bad as peabody

I spent four days in a dark room and was givent persription pain meds and to this day I must use eye drops every morning otherwise my eyes are too dry

I could not have lasik..so i had lasAk (a form of PRK) - I would go for a second opinion try TLC in Garden City as ask to see Dr. Donnefeld specficially tell them the problem - I know he has fixed someone elses mistake before

he should have been told at least a few days before - it takes a lot longer to heal - won't have perfect vision for about 3 months

any more questions fm me - i had PRK and both my brothers had lasik and recovered quickly

Oh my gosh...I am so sorry you went through this. I have never known any of this until my brother had it. I hope you are all healed by now. My brother is in Florida, so I can't help him with seeing someone else. I feel so awful for him. Thank you for sharing.
