Please let me know that I am not alone

I utterly lost it and broke down in the doctor's office. I felt so silly but I couldn't stop the tears from streaming.
Please tell me I am not the only one who has lost control of her emotions to her doctor.

Definitely NOT the only one. Remember a couple months ago when I cried at the CVS check-out counter!?!?!

The doctor has seen his fair share of my tears too!

Thanks Lauren- I did learn a lesson though, when I raise my voice and start crying, the doctor seems to drop everything and sit and talk with me. We had a thirty minute conversation with my legs in the stirups after the IUI.
The sad thing...most people would be bothered by having a conversation like that but I thought to myself in the middle....wow, I should feel uncomfortable right now, but I don't.

I broke down at my Dr.'s office yesterday, when he said "You are thinking with your heart..."...because it's true.

Deb I am sure your Dr. has seen lots of tears, and will see many more. The important thing is you had a good discussion with him...over the sheet covering your knees!! LOL...

I did it just last week when I went for blood...you are definitely not alone!

You are not alone, plus I usually end up sitting in the car crying after too...

I have had break downs in front of complete strangers when I was going for my medical leave for infertility and appealing my U rating for going over the allowed days absence at my job. My administrator said I should have made my doctor appointments after work and on weekends. I ended up telling her how often I did go on weekends, and why fertility treatments don't occur after work hours. She didn't care...

I have cried a lot in my car coming home from the RE, it's amazing I even find my way home sometimes. One time I actually got a traffic ticket from a police officer, from going through the stop sign, 2 blocks from my home, since I was so dazed.

I am glad you went over your concerns with your Dr. I think we are generally too easy going about all this. We put a lot of faith in doctors, and I just hope they are working hard for us.

I know what you mean about sitting there in the stir ups and having the conversation. I just did the same thing the other day. Spoke 15 minutes to a Dr. while I was naked from the bottom down and it didn't phase me in the least, until I was in my car thinking about it.

You aren't alone at all. Just thinking about it, I could break down. I think all of us have had our moments. I know there are a lot of resources out there but I still feel so isolated and alone.

It's really too bad we all didn't live close and could really use each other as support. I know I don't talk to friends or family about this because they just don't get it. My husband tries to be there but he doesn't get it either. He has no conception of the utter failure, disappointment, sorrow, anger and pain that I go through.

It's happened too many times to count. I find myself in tears all the time - just glad most of the time it's when I'm alone in by car or at home with just DH.

Im sorry. It is very hard to go through this. I did that in the middle of the Post office, I got a call on my cell phone that my IVF did not work. That was not the best time to tell me, I lost it.

You are not alone. I have almost lost it in the office, but managed to get to th ecar before I dripped into tears.
It is just the whole process. After awhile you the feelings just take over you.

I got a call on my cell while I was on the train home that my IVF didn't work...that blew, but it really wasn't a surprise.

It's weird, I think I've "hardened" myself....I rarely cry about this. I get sad, but just can't cry. Maybe b/c it all seems so unreal...that this is actually happening to me.

Does that make sense?

thanks ladies, It's so nice to know that I am not alone. We should share these more often so we all remember that we have friends in this and that we are not alone.

last week after waiting an hour in the room for my IUI the MD came in to find me sobbing, boy I think she was surprised...

But this wasnt the first time either

You are not alone. We all have our own ways of dealing with the stress this brings into our lives. Last week when i got BFN I was livid and instead of tears it was just anger.

IF definitely takes a toll after awhile of dealing with it. I think we should all be commended for sharing our thoughts and feelings with each other so that we can live our lives and have an outlet to help us deal with this. I am so happy I have found you ladies and really look forward to reading these boards on a daily basis.
