Disney's Beach Club Villas
We got back over the weekend, but I am finally writing a review..
We stayed at the Beach Club Villas in a studio. We had a view of the woods which was nice. Also, at night we could see the epcot fireworks from our balcony. The walk into epcot was less than 5 minutes. Great location! We arrived in Orlando at 10, and we checked into our room right away (which was so nice, because villa check in is at 4). We had faxed a grocery order...and our food arrived in our refridgerator by mid afternoon. (A very nice feature with the vacation club). The beach club is a beautiful resort, with a great fitness center and an amazing pool area and water slide. We had so much fun at the resort. The ice cream at Beaches and Cream was amazing, as were the cheeseburgers and onion rings!!!
This is a pretty resort with a great beachy feel. I highly recommend it to anyone. The only problem we had was with the Disney's Magical Express Bus. They pick you up at the airport and they are supposed to collect your luggage from baggage claim and bring it to the resort. Well, our luggage was not picked up. We did not have it until almost midnight. But, disney made good....they gave us $200 to buy clothes and bathing suits to start our trip off. They also provided us with robes and toiletries to get us started. Not bad, being that we had our bag before the night was through. We ate at a ton of restaurants...we had a dinner planned each night.
Highly Recommend: Ohana at the Polynesian, The Brown Derby at MGM, the Yachtsman at the Yacht Club resort- OUTSTANDING!, cape may cafe for the dinner buffet and the garden lounge at the Grand Floridian. We did afternoon tea twice there and it was incredible!
Dinners that I did not enjoy as much....Mexico at Epcot, The Bistro at France in Epcot, and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian...but it was a character dinner so that was fun.
Events that were great...Fantasmic at MGM, Wishes at Magic Kingdom, Soarin at Epcot and lots of others. Any questions please let me know. I know it seems like we spent a lot on dinners, but we have the dining card, annual pass discounts and vacation club discounts. Nothing was full price which was great!

That's awesome! Are you satisfied overall with DVC? I've heard mixed reviews. It seems like people either love it ro hate it!

Christy it sounds great!! We are going in Sept and trying out the Cape May dinner buffet and 1900 Park Fare for the first time. Can you tell me what you didn't like about 1900 Park Fare?
Yachtsman Steakhouse is our favorite and it's where we are celebrating our anniversary. And Beaches & Cream is a must do for a burger. For a while Don wanted to try the kitchen sink which is just obscene. Last year my mom met us there and he finally got to try it. They barely made a dent in it but had fun with (I am not a big ice cream eater).

haha I was gonna ask you if you tried the kitchen sink?
Yatchsman restaurant has to be one of my favorite places. The food there is always great.
I have reservations for ohanas end of august.
Im getting tired of chef mickeys wanted to try something new.I heard it was good.
Sounds like a great trip..

The food at 1900 Park Fare was just ok. But it was fun to meet the characters. DH liked the food more because he got to eat prime rib. LOL
So for DVC has been good to us. This was our first time using it, so we'll see. But it is so affordable, and I look forward to trying places besides disney.

The food at 1900 PF is varied but it's greasy. My impression was like when you try to order a fancy entree at a diner. It was fresh and everything, nothing wrong with it per se, just not that high quality.

Ah, maybe we'll rethink that. I heard better reviews then this in other places, I had no idea it was a character meal until the CM told me yesterday so that wasn't even the draw. Thanks for the info.
Chrsity -- Can I ask a million and one questions about the Beach Club??
How did you like Stormalong Bay? Was it really crowded? Is there sand on the bottom of the whole pool or just certain areas? Did you go on the slide? And is there a pool bar? I have seen hurricane hannah's - that 's the snack bar right?
We are booked for the Boardwalk in Sept and found out the main pool slide will be having work done which I think may disturb the whole area. There are also pipe replacement projects in the villas that will be noisy during the day (not as much of a concern).
So I am thinking about switching to the Beach club if it's available. But the Beach Club pool area always looks chaotic to me. We sit by the pool at some point nearly every day so it's important to me that we, ok me, get annoyed about it

Thanks Jennifer. I will have to look at the list of restaurants again, but I'll mention CA Grill to DH -- a lot of people rave about it and I know there's a good view of the fireworks from there.
We went to CRT once and sadly we weren't that impressed 
What's so ridiculous, is that DH spends so much time planning where and when we go and we end up changing half our planned meals for one reason or another.

I am glad you are asking questions! Happy to answer them...
Ok the pool area was lovely. The pool is so nice, and I am pretty sure that sand was on 99% of the bottom. It felt weird at first, but then I liked it. The spas were great too (at night, too hot during the day). They make you show your room key to get into this pool, so only people at beach/yacht can use it. I am not going to lie, it did get crowded. But, we never had a problem getting a chair. The slide is SO MUCH FUN TOO!!! If you want a quiet area to swim and layout the villa pool is perfect. We enjoyed that pool as well. There is also another pool, also private. I would go for the beach club, I really loved it. Plus you cant beat Beaches and Cream for some ice cream treats! There is not a pool bar, but hurrican hannahs is right there.
