Where did you purchase your Kitchen Cabinets?

I have an appt with Consumers today b/c my contractor gets a discount with them, but I've read some negative things about their service...and now I am worried.

He also gets a discount from LI Stove.

Where did you buy yours?

Here's a pic - They are made by Kraftmaid. I love them and the people at Lowes were great. I must have spent 8 hours trying to design the kitchen layout.

We are getting Richmaid cabinets. My FIL is a kitchen designer and that's all he sells. I don't have pics of my current kitchen (house we just sold) after it was redone last year on this computer. We are now redoing the kitchen in the new house but cabinets won't be in and installed for 8 weeks at least... special order.

Be very wary of Consumers. They are salespeople and not necessarily designers and definitely not installers. They may not be able to really know the pluses and minuses of certain design decisions. They are also expensive for what they sell.

Make sure you get quotes for the same design, cabinets, etc from various places and negotiate.

We got ours from LI stove because a good friend works there and got us a great discount. They have been up for 5 years now and still look like they were just hung. We never had a problem with them.

Ikea!!! Great quality, great prices (well we didn't buy them yet but that's where we WILL buy them!)

Home Depot, they are Thomasville. Great Quality, annoying service!

Ours are also Kraftmaid and we bought them at Home Depot. They are really nice and sturdy. DH is installing them this week (he wanted to do it to save the install fee). I will post pics when they are done. WHAT a difference and it only cost $4100 to do the whole kitchen (NOT Including counter top)

We bought ours at Home Depot. We went with the bottom of the line Mill's Pride in the cherry finish. You put them together yourself, but they look really nice. The service at Home Depot is obnoxious is the only downfall.

Lisa - my dad uses either Consumers or Florence.

I've only dealt with Consumers for any of the things for my house b/c of Dad and I've never had a problem.

Now if I could only hit lotto so I could redo my 80's kitchen the house would be done!!!

Kraftmaid from Home Depot. We went to Consumers first but I absolutely HATED the "designer". We found someone we liked at HD, so we went with her.

This is the company that was used for our cabinets. I dont know where to get them as they were an upgrade when we were building

We used consumers - we didnt have a problem with them. One of the doors came in the wrong shade & they replaced it asap.

Before we knocked down any walls we were also going to use consumers. We started demolition and realized that the entire house had to be rewired so we decided to go with Ikea cabinets. We love them! They are so easy to clean, they were very easy to put together, we did it in one weekend and very afforable. We saved about $2000 by using Ikea cabinets. We also decided to go with them because we this house wouldnt be our final house and the old kitchen consisted of the wall where the sink is and refridgerator so I didn't have much a kitchen.

We used Consumers and liked our salesperson a lot (an older gentleman who was just very nice). They didn't install our cabinets, only the granite. We had no issues whatsoever.
