They have a million dollars to kill a cartoonists... I'm sorry- but i don't recall the last time I heard too many of these clerics offering $ for education or food for the poor.

I once read an article where they did a search of Arafat's speaches (when he was alive) and found how many times he mentioned guns/violence (thousands). Then they did a search to see how many times he mentioned education (0 or 1).
It is very clear where their priorities are...

I just think our efforts are a waste of time, money and American lives ... these people will never ever become 'civilized'. I really consider them animals.

The sad part about your comment is that animals don't even act like this...I feel sorry for our soliders who are over there risking their lives for people who will never know how to live in peace...I have no sympathy for people who think "killing" is the answer for everything...JMO

I agree with you. Its so sad. My family is from Israel and so is DH. I try so hard to keep an open mind and remember that not all Muslims in the Middle East believe this and want violence and terrorism. DH and I know several Muslims from Turkey who believe in democracy and peace (of course- they are here in NY). But when the Palistinians voted for Hamas... it just showed me that what the people really want- IS violence and terrorism. It really shook my faith that there can ever be peace in the middle east.

My husband is over there leaving myself and my 8 month son behind. I don't believe he is wasting his time at all and believe me I would love to have him home right now. You can't believe everything you hear just from the news. Things always pick up around their once the weather starts getting warmer.
This cartoon has caused so many problems which makes me so happy to be American since our own newspapers have polictical cartoons daily that some almost everyday.

I think that these people have been used to suppression for so long that they don't know any other way of living. They have lived like this for so many years and that's all they know. Trying to free a country whose majority is used to oppression is like trying to bring oppression to the US. IMO
