What size to buy for the summer????

They have the cutest summer clothes out for little girls and I want to start getting some stuff for Ava but I have no idea what size to get her. She is growing like a weed. Right now she is 5 months and is wearing 9months which fit her perfectly so I'm not sure if I should get her 12 months or 18 months for the summer.....what do you guys think?

I've been getting dresses in size 18 mos and i bought some pants/tshirts yesterday at the children's place in 12 months becuase i know she'll wear them in the spring -- however Emily is kinda big so I'm thinking I should switch to 18 mos. How many lbs is Ava now?

Hi Danielle! Wow, Ava is getting so big!! Katherine is 17 lbs. now and still in 3-6, but just beginning to grow out of them. I think we're going on a shopping spree today to Babies R Us and I was thinking of starting with some 6-9 for now through the spring, but I would think by summer time, they'd be wearing 12 mos. I don't know, 18 mos. seems a bit big, but I guess, buy 12 mos. for now and go up as needed.

Emily was 15.3 at her last visit, 25.5" and 3-6 mos she has definately outgrown, and so she's in 9 mos now. Carter's 9 mos are fine but in a lot of other brands the length is getting to small on her, so I definately think 12 or 18 months for her.

I think Ava would be the same, and remember, some of these summer clothes she'll be able to wear into september so even if they are a little big in june they might not be a few months later while it is still warm out.

ETA -- how about some new pics of Ava?? I havent been on a lot but I have this week off since I'm a teacher too and I've love to see her!

Alex is 5 months, over 17lbs and fitting into clothes that range anywhere from 6mos through 12mos. I picked up some summer clothes over the weekend in size 12 mos and 18mos... it's just so frustrating that every clothing line runs differently with sizing!

definately -- carter's and children's place seem to run normal-big -- but a lot of the stuff people have gotten us from kohl's as well as the little me stuff (they have an outlet in riverhead) i am finding to run very very small. she's already out of 9 months as far as that stuff is concerned.

i have a box of stuff to return or exchange but having the time to do it is another issue!!

Julia is 18lbs now and wears 6-12mths, I got her a lot of summer stuff at Old Navy in sizes 12-18 and some 18-24 (mostly tops).
