we received an oil delivery today
447.8 gallons @ 2.09.9 = $939.93 + tax
i thought that we locked in at a lower rate but i guess not. we do have a $100 coupon and if we opt to pay through express payment it is 5 cents less a gallon. regradless, it is still SO expensive.
not to mention, we just paid our 6 month tax bill.

I have a 550 gallon tank. You can call up your oil delivery company and have them cap off the number of gallons that they pump at each drop. We just have them come a few times a year and fill up our 550 gallon tank. It's a big hit but it goes a long way.

We just got a delivery on Friday. It was over $600 for 230 gallons aprox.

typical CH col. i know the tank was about 1/4 full when they delivered this morning.

ACtually that is a good price per gallon, basically that's the COD rate right now. We had to pay $2.19 last week because our regualr COD company (1.99) was sold out.
Just FYI for everyone, when you pay C.O.D. the more you order the cheaper the oil is. My uncle just put in a new 1000 gallon (in the ground) tank for that reason. He's always had a 1000 galllon. He calls in the summer and gets it filled once for the entire year. Because he orders over 500 gallons at a time it is a lot less per gallon.

That's what we do. Only ours is 550. It sure seems like a big hit but it's much more less.

I like the budget plan wheere we pay a certain amount every month. $165. Maybe try that.

we have a 550 tank guess your tank was empty the going rate is 2.69 so 2.09 is a great deal but you should tell your oil company not to fill the whole thing so you dont get stuck with such a large bill. we ask for 1/2 as our is in the ground and wont use it all this winter.
