I am SOOO Nervous! *UPDATE at bottom!

what should i say to my boss telling her i need to drop my fri & sat shifts?
she is going to go ballistic. i dont know how to word it.
i know she is going to ask me why and when i say i picked up a 2nd job she will freak. she is the worst person when it comes being on her bad side.
i just dont know what to say.
my stomach is in knots right now.

Why do you have to tell her why you are dropping the shifts. What you do on your own time is your business. Can't you just say something like, I've decided that this isn't the right path for me right now, or just tell her it no longer fits in your schedule to work those shifts.

that ran through my head about tkaing courses, but i MAY run into her there.....
she collects money for the street cleaning and the bar is only up the block.

i am just so petrified.
i KNOW she will ask me why i am dropping shifts

"WHY?"
"I was offered a weekend job, and the money is REALLY good and i REALLY need to do it rigt now. I dont want to leave here, but I just need to shorten my hours"


and then i dont know where it will go from there.

she is going to say i have no morals to do this to her befpre xmas and so on.
but when it comes down to it, im NOT going to stay at a place where i make less money JUDT to please her and not make her upset.

just get it over with. don't let her intimidate you. you have your own life and i'm sure your job is employment at will...meaning, you can quit or she can fire you at any time!

I know how you feel about being nervous, but isn't this the woman that had the b@lls to say she wished one of you would quit so she could hire some other girl that she interviewed? SHE has no morals, and if she treats you badly, leave altogether! You'll be making more $$ in 3 days at the new job than you do in 5 days at the old, so if she's gonna be a b!tch about it....SEE YA!!!

Sorry, don't mean to be harsh, I just hate to see you get yourself upset over this woman who sounds like a complete witch!!!

Thanks for teh support everyone. It went fine.
I had the worst stomach ache and anxiety... i whispered to my coworker "Im going to tell her now" and she gave me the 'NOOOOO!' face. she was lik e"dont do it now.. wait!"
as you can see, we are all scared to pieces of this woman. its so weird how someone can have such a hold over you.

Anyway, so i just walked in and said i had to talk to her. i said "In two weeks i wont have weekend availablity, so i cant do my Fri&Sat shifts"

as expected she asked why and i told her.
she wouldnt even LOOK at me!
she said to me "So, you want to do this to me right before Xmas?" and i said "i dont WANT to do it" (meaning right before the holidays) and she said "YES you do or ytou wouldnt be doing it" i just said "I'm very sorry" and she said "No youre not, youre not sorry, dont say that"
blah blah blah i told her i understand that the timing is bad, but i really need the money. she understood somewhat. she understands, but is selfish more like.
She said "Well, are you working this fri and sat?" I said "Yes"

we left it as that. but then she was saying how working in a bar is 'living life on the edge' and you can go over teh edge real easily there and i already live my life on hte edge (W-T-F does THAT mean?!!!! i asked her and she used my tattoos as an example )

Anywya, so she called a girl or two for an interview, so hopefully it will all be ok.

She is of course being VERY passive aggressive, but she isnt as bad as i htough, and FOR NOW i still will work there Mon, Wed & Thurs!

i ave NO idea! i said to her "i dont get it? living life on the edge?" and she said that i already do b/c of my tattoos, hair, etc

i PERSONALLY think she is insinuating i will get into drugs, but who knows

I have to say I feel EXTREMELY bad for you. In my opinion, she is competely out of line, especially with that snarky comment. I hope you don't take it too much to heart (a mistake I have made in the past). Always remember to do what is right for you. If anything, it's a relief that this is out of the way.

yeah, i have learned not to take anything personal anymore. she is just insecure or something. i really dont understand her, but whatever. i try not to let her get to me.
