Should a straight man wear capris?
I've seen gay men pull this look off. But I have yet to see a straight man wear this look and not look stupid. And I feel like more and more men are trying to rock capris. It's an epidemic! Just yesterday my husband and I ran into an acquaintance of mine and he had on capris, a t-shirt and sandals. And it was bad! All I could think was, 'why isn't his girlfriend helping him?' Am I being too harsh? Maybe I have just not yet come across the straight man who can carry this look off. I think it takes a very specific body type and sense of style. So do you like a man in capris? (You couldn't get my husband into capris at gunpoint.)

My first reaction was NO WAY....but, I think a very particular man can pull it off. Someone thin, maybe a little sporty, and almost certainly not American. Like a very cute, thin, Italian bicycler.
But not with sandals.

Personally, I would automatically think the guy was gay if he was wearing capri pants. Even if he told me he was straight as an arrow, I would be thinking....Hmmmmm??? Is he bi or gay?
This look NEVER looks good on any guy (gay or straight), IMHO.

I think that straight punk rock guys wear those plaid-like capris. So, I guess it depends on the person..............
my DH would look friggin' ridiculous in capris!!

This is a funny question.
I actually know a man who has worn/wears capri pants.
But he's one of those very particular men who can pull it off.
He's very cool and most definitely straight. But he's got a different kind of flair.
(He paired the linen khaki colored capri's with a white linen shirt and sandals.)
This look is not for everyone, but he pulled it off. I think this particular guy would look more silly in jeans-shorts and a tee-shirt and sneakers.

Ok. If they wear them with Doc Martins or combat boots, yes. Only if they are really punked out head to toe, then yes they can pull it off.
I have yet to see someone other than Johnny Rotten from the sex pistols, or the mighty mighty bosstones pull it off well.

Probably not if he doesn't want his friends to make fun of him! DH has a friend - he's actually a pretty big guy- as in tall and muscular, not heavy- who wore them. His brothers and all the friends will never let him live it down. Though they looked ok on him on I thought.

My immediate answer would be absolutely not. Then I started thinking of someone like Jude Law, who could pull it off. Now I'm thinking that Jude Law is more prettier than the average straight guy, so I'm back to "No"

I know the look Capris and Sandals... so one of my pet peeves... well sandals on me is generally one of my big pet peeves, except at the beach, but when they are paired with capris... I get queasy thinking about that look.
