How do I know if it's "real"?
I keep getting really sharp pains very low in my groin area. They only last for a couple of seconds, but have been happening all day. I'm assuming these aren't contractions but they're killing me. It feels like the baby's just squirming around, but I'm not sure. Everyone says you'll know when it's real....so then what the heck am I feeling now?

I felt that all Sunday night... Still have no idea what it was but it seems like his head is even lower now... I hope when I go to the doctor on Saturday he tells me that I've dialated more... Thats the only thing I can think those stabbing pains could have been.

I was just about to post this same question. Thanks for asking. I am very curious if anyone can answer. I am having this same thing for 2 days now. Really sharp stabbing pain and it seems to be both low in my groin and also in the back rectum area. Everyone seems to say you'll know when you're in labor so I assume this isn't, but I've been in such pain for 2 days that I'm going out of my mind.

Stabbing groin pains are normal.
For me labor was more like internal belly cramping, menstrual cramps but more severe. They start at the back & radiate to the front. Very similar to Braxton Hicks but stronger, doesn't stop (except if you shower - that slows them down).
All of the aches & pains means you are that much closer to having your baby. Think of it as your body prepping to go.

Well I want my body to GO then....this child is killing me today
Good thing I can TRY to laugh about it. I just hope this lets up a little.
