My first car was a baby blue one, aka the blue hornet It was a semi-automatic, I think and that car was all over the road with any wind- even with weight in the trunk.
I'll try and post a pic later of the vw convertible my dad had restored. I loved that car! drove it for a few months then it was sold to some guy in germany.

The semi automatics are cool - Stick with no clutch. I also like the VW sedan, hatch, and Karmen Ghia. I would love a Karmen Ghia. My wife would never go for me getting an old car now - but maybe one day

That's the same as the bug my Grandmother had. I used to think she was the coolest 86 y.o. on the road

the clarity on these pics aren't so great but this car had an awesome candy apple red paint job. My dad originally bought it for $300-400- it was an ugly faded yellow and pretty banged up. He ended up selling it for close to $10,000 Image Attachment(s):

Its a good investment car - If you can still find one for under $1000 that has had the floor boards changed - because they rust like crazy, then fix it up a little - Parts are affordable for the bug......Resell on the car would be a lot higher.
My neighbor had an orange one. He let it rust and then sold it - I almost bought one when I was 17 - The old woman that owned said I could have it for $100. It was a semi auto. My dad said no......Oh well.

Awww. LOVE it. My next door neighbor had one when i was a kid, who knew I'd end up with a new one in the same color!
When I bought my bug I really wanted an old one, but my parents were concerned about safety
