Restaurants on Water....
I moved off LI a couple of years ago. I'm coming home this weekend for a wedding. We're staying at my parent's house in E Npt, then the night of the wedding in Garden City. I am going to be showing around some friends who have never been to LI. Friday we're going to the wineries on the North Fork. Saturday we want to either stay near Northport/Hungtinton or go over to the GC area. Can anyone recommend any good restaurants on the water. I love the view at CoCo's but the food is just so-so. Any other suggestions in the area? Thanks!!

Re: Restaurants on Water....
I think Cold Spring Harbor might have some restaurants near or on the water.
There's always Mill Pond Inn in Centerport - kind of pricy but I heard the food is excellent.
You can't go wrong with Huntington. There are so many good restaurants (although not on the water) but the atmosphere in Huntington is always good.

It is closed but it's openning as a steak house. It might be opened already.
There is Mill Pond House and Viva Juan's on Centerport Harbor. There is also a restaurant at Crab Meadow Beach. Old Dock Inn in Kings Park. Bayville has some but I don't know the names. 105 Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor looks over the water too.

Cucina Bay in Merrick is on a canal, the sun sets over there - its really pretty and the food is very good.

Thanks!! Viva Juans would be fun.
And I'm not surprised CoCos closed, the food was never as good as the atmosphere. Hopefully something great opens there!

I know this is an old post, but just wanted to give some you girls a heads up:
Coco's will soon be a Tellers Steakhouse. It should be ready by latespring/early summer.

My DH and I have been meaning to try the place. I keep hearing good reviews.
Just so others know, they're only open on the weekend during the winter months.

Re: Restaurants on Water....
My father used to call La Casa my kitchen - since we always ate there & I never cooked. We love going there in the summer - although truthfully I'm not crazy about the food.

Re: Restaurants on Water....
In CHS there is 105 Harbor and in Bayville there is Whalls Wharf - and you can eat on the beach there.
