Re: Laser Hair removal...

I had laser once but the hair grew back (they said it could take several visits and it may not be totally gone). It didn't really hurt but it was uncomfortable and you could feel the heat. My mom had electrolysis for everything - I have never seen her pick up a razor, always swimsuit-ready. It is permanent and rarely do you need more than one visit (for any particular hair) although some grow back, but at most you should need two to three visits. I think electrolysis is the better way to go, especially for a few chin hairs.

Re: Laser Hair removal...

I was going to to it last summer. DH got me a gift certificate but when I got there and read the paperwork it asked if you could possibly be pregnant (I was getting my bikini line done... sorry TMI). As we were four months into TTC at that point I decided to ask for my money back.

I have heard electrolysis is better and more permanent but also more expensive per treatment.

Laser, you do need to return multiple times with each time the hair getting less and less and finer. Laser might be cheaper per treatment but could be more expensive in the long run.

Re: Laser Hair removal...

Had it done a few years ago on my legs...had about six sessions. I hardly have to shave, and I should go for follow up sessions every so often, but I don't.

I think it was worth it, because my legs get irritated easily from shaving...so now they're nice and smooth.

And YES it HURT like Heck!!! My MD thought I was extremely sensitive.

Re: Laser Hair removal...

I had it done about 3 years ago. All the DARK hairs are gone, but the BROWN hairs are still there and new ones grew.

I think it was worth it, but I definitely need follow up and I've been considering just going to electrolysis for the hairs that are still there.

Re: Laser Hair removal...

I heard electrolysis causes wrinkles-

there is a woman at my office who had it done - and all around her lip looks like a 90 woman- and she is maybe 47
