Hi, I live in Auburndale as well. I go to Evolution salon . Check out the website nyevolutionsalon.com
there it will let you know where it is located since I am not sure where you are exactly. Do you live by the LIRR? there is a great market right next to the bar. They have a full deli and everything.
If you are interested in sushi- try Tsai Basil. It is located on Utopia.
FM me if you want more details

Hey there, I lived there practically my whole life, until I got married and moved to LI a few months ago. I still go to Bayside for my hair - my mom still lives there. I go to Studio Z. - C.C. does my color (love her) and Stephanie cuts my hair.

I used to go to Christie's in Bay Terrace, but I don't really like anyone that has cut my hair there, although Chicky does excellent colore.

Good Luck!

Oh and for Restaurants - Bell Boulevard pretty much has everything. Definitely try Erawan for Thai.

As for Dr's - there are also many offices that I know of from friends/family also located on Bell - but closer to Bay Terrace.

My friend goes to a Dr. Gerber (OB/GYN)somewhere over there and swears by him.

Mine was located there too, but recently moved the practice to LI - oddly enoughChat Icon

Good luck again!

Re: north flushing/aburndale/bayside girls some help?

I don't get my hair cut in that area...so I'm not really a help there.

MY ob/gyn is by North Shore hospital which is only about a 15 minute ride...also Long Island Jewish Hospital is about 15 mins. away also.

Restaurants:

Sullivans on bell Blvd when the weather is nice.

Bayside Diner (my favorite diner in the world)

Cascarinos on Bell Blvd for pizza

Pier 25A for seafood

Gyro Corner on Francis Lewis Blvd for gyros and quick Greek food

I grew up in Whitestone, but the part closest to Auburndale and still live in Bayside, so if I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Re: north flushing/aburndale/bayside girls some help?

I grew up in Bayside.

My favorite restaurants on Bell Blvd are Erawan (thai), Okinawa (japanese), Papazzio (Italian).

Hair - I too, used to go to Christies and can vouch that Chicky does a great ob with color. Now I get it cut at Nubest in Manhasset on Northern Blvd - only about 15-20 minutes away.

Dentist - Mariana Sapir - not sure of het address, but you can google her - she's right on Bell in the same building as Love My Shoes.

Congrats on the move!

I loved Bay Terrace! We didn't know the area at all - born & bread in LI -

and drove around there and fell in love with it - Bell Blvd is great -

we though didn't have much luck finding a place in Bay Terrace, but we love the apt we got in a building

For Greek food we love Kati Allo. It is on I think 172nd Street and Francis Lewis (its by Carvel). My 2 SIL and MIL and my SIL's MIL all go to Dr. Nurenburg by Flushing Hospital. He is suppobably very funny and a great OBGYN. I am thinking of switching when I move but not sure since I just switched right before I had DS.

Hair Salon- International Haircutters in Fresh Meadows. Go to Jeanne(best colorist) or Valerie(only for cuts)

OBGYN- North Shore Obgyn -across from the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.
Associated with NSUH.

Eating- so many to choose from. There is a lot of great places on Bell Blvd(right off Northern Blvd). We love Erawan Thai.

My first apt was in Auburndale and now I'm in Whitestone.

Foodwise:

Primo Amore on Francis Lewis off of Crocheron/35th Ave has amazing italian food.

Oasis on Northern by 194th has delicious Greek pastries.

Maretta's on Bell right near the train station has really yummy cakes and cookies.

OB/GYN:

North Shore Obstetrics and Gynecology they are affiliated with NSUH of Manhasset. They're located directly across from Bay Terrace shopping center. I love them.

Welcome to the area!!

My ob/gyn is in Lake Success, but my sister goes to Dr. Melgar across from Bay Terrace--I was a former patient until ins. changed.

I get my hair cut/colored at Studio Z on Bell Blvd. But I used to go to Christie's and was happy even though much of the staff thinks they're too good for Queens!

As far as restaurants...we love Bell: Monahan's, Bourbon Street, etc. On Francis Lewis you have Primo Amore, Graziella, and a place that used to be Ernesto's (a lot of help!), but changed its name...hmmm...also Kati Allo. Oh yeah, and Ginza for Japanese. On Northern there's Ground Round. As far as we're concerned, the best pizza is at Amore which is in the College Point shopping center, which itself is pretty scary, but worth it for the pizza! Chinese we order from a place on 164th and Crocheron, forget the name, but it's right by the Broadway LIRR.

Well, that's about it...Good luck!!

You're coming from Bay Terrace, right?

You will be making a right -- it's about 1/2 a mile down 20th Ave. You can't see it from the expressway at all.
