You and your son are in my  !!! I was told with 2 of my pregnancies I was borderline for spinabifida!! They did the level II ultrasound and all was fine!! Those tests are so known for false positives!! Please try and stay calm and relaxed!! I know how hard it is though!! You are both in my thoughts!!

It's just so hard to keep a calm head about this when all I want to do is cry. A lot of people are telling me to go for a second opinion. time is of the essence here for me. Cuz if something is seriously wrong and I have to god forbid terminate my pregnancy, I would have to do it before it's too late.
Any choice won't be easy.

is it the afp test- It can have false positives which is why I decided against it.
i WAS GOING TO SAY THE EXACT SAME THING !!! I denied the test! You r in my thoughts and prayers

I'm so scared right now. It's like if I don't take the test and something is wrong then we don't know how dangerous it could be to even continue with the pregnancy. If I do take there is also a very low risk for a miscarriage.
why is this happening to me? I don't understand...what did I do wrong?

Hang in there. There is a high probability that you got a false positive, this is also why i opted out of this test, I figured I;d deal with whatever God handed me when I delivered the baby. Once the amnio is over you can rest and hopefully enjoy the enxt 5 months! We are all thinking and praying for you

Getting the amnio results (either positive or negative) won't stop you from worrying about your boy. It's another hurdle you get over. What it will do is prepare you for whatever may come your way. I think for the people I know that were in similar situations, it was the not knowing that was worse and caused more stress for them.
I know this is hard for you - I do know how stressful it is. You did nothing wrong - and right now it's out of your hands. We are all praying for you.
