Did anyone watch True Life I have OCD
They showed 3 different people:
One girl was in her early 20's and had a fear of her Mother dying and by doing rituals she would keep her Mother alive.
Another girl was 17/18 and her parents didn't believe she had a problem. Her Dad would touch things for her and her Mom wouldn't.
Then the guy who was in his 20's I think and aspiring musician. He did the weird cough thing to help him focus on his rituals.
All very creepy...

I actually wish I had seen it because my husband has OCD.

i watched and got a little scared because i saw a lot of myself in the people.....
i have a student this year who ie severly OCD and he's having some trouble recently...so I am trying to learn more about the disorder.

i watched and got a little scared because i saw a lot of myself in the people.....
i have a student this year who ie severly OCD and he's having some trouble recently...so I am trying to learn more about the disorder.
The 2 girls sought treatment and have been ritual free since, the guy hasn't gone through any treatment yet. I think we all have little things we are obsessed with for me I like things to be put back in their place but these people it's an extreme. For the guy he has this bathroom ritual thing he has to do before he goes #2.

I watched and felt bad for all of them. I'm glad they got help though. I was mad at that one girls mom who seemed annoyed w/ her daughter!

I think it basically goes along with the idea that if she doesn't perform these rituals something bad will happen. Horrible way to live. I know someone who is going through this, it really takes over your life.

i see what you are saying, but i think she needed to speak to a psychatrist before dealing with the ocd. i can't imagine living like that though

OCD runs in my family and sometimes I swear I have a slight case...When I get something in my head...I have to take care of it...otherwise my head literally spins!!
