Update from the train this morning....man has died.
From Newsday:
In a separate incident, a man was killed this morning after he was hit by a LIRR train in Smithtown about 6:10 a.m., the LIRR said.
The man, who has not been identified, was reportedly alive for a short time after being struck. The incident is being investigated by the MTA police.
DH saw him moving around afterward....I think he is in shock.  He told me the man said "good morning" to those next to him, then dove for it.

Thanks, guys. He's very shaken and has this look in his eyes, kinda blank, that's worrying me. I think it's also that since he saw the man alive, and now he knows he's dead...he's just contemplating life and death--a very normal reaction. Literally, I'm making dinner now, then I told him to shower up and I'm making him tea and putting him to bed. Thanks for your concern. I'm totally haunted just hearing about this...
He's also the type that since he was at work all day, focused on that and forcing it out of his head...well, now he's home so he's totally thinking about it. He came home, and jumped on the computer to see what he could find out.
