TTC Questions
There is so much info out there that it all becomes a bit overwhelming. We are trying to not make this extremely clinical unless we have to later on down the road. So, I just want to make sure that I have some facts straight. If you could help that would be great!!!!
1. If you go by BBT that only tells you that you are ovulating. It can help, but once your BBT goes up its too late to concieve. Is this correct?
2. Most women on a 28 day cycle ovulate 14 days after the first day of AF. Is this correct?
3. Ovulation kits predict when you are ovulating. Correct?
I'm sorry I just feel so overwhelmed with info. Any help you can give is appreciated!!!

Re: TTC Questions
I am not sure about #1 but I don't believe you necessarily ovulate on day 14 if you have a 28 day cycle. As for #3 yes, OPKs predict ovaluation will occur within the next 24 - 36 hours once you get the surge line.

Re: TTC Questions
1) Your BBT will confirm ovulation with a clear thermal shift (temps increasing), but once they increase you've already O'd.
2) No , every woman is different. I had a 28 -30 day cycle but didn't ovulate until day 17 -19!!
3) OPK's help predict when you are going to ovulate (usually within 12-36 hours of a + opk) by measuring your Lutenizing Hormone. However sometimes your body gears up to O (get a + OPK), but for some reason you don't. That is one reason many woman use BBT to confirm that they actually did O.
I hope that helps!!!
Good luck and baby dust

Yes thats correct, once you ovulate you will see a clear temp spike.. That doesnt mean your temps wont occasionaly have a high day before O time. Thats why it takes like a month or two to get the hang of it.
2. Most women on a 28 day cycle ovulate 14 days after the first day of AF.
Yes thats correct for a 28 day cycle. If you are on a 28 day cycle, your lucky and can pinpoint the O date and AF date much easier. Most women arent I hear, but I was and I found I usually O'd on day 13 or 14.
3. Ovulation kits predict when you are ovulating. Correct?
They predict that you WILL ovulate within 24-36 hours, so they are like a preliminary thing...Like..times almost here...get moving
