America Cancer Society Relay for Life today!
Hello all!
DH and I are doing the American Cancer Society Relay for Life today in the rain!! . This will be our 4th year doing it. For those who don't know what it is, the Relay for Life is (taken from the ACS web page)" a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back against this disease. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay is much more than a walk around a track. It is a time to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived. It is a night for people who have shared the same experience to comfort and console one another. "
The Relay for Life is especially meaningful for DH and me, as DH is a cancer survivor himself. Please support us and cancer research by making a donation. It can be as big or small as you can afford- every little bit makes a difference!! You can donate on my personal webpage... which is completely safe. DH and I both made our donations via the website.
Even if you can't donate, please say prayers that the rain will stop! DH and I are doing this all night, rain or no rain!

I DO KNOW...my mom, aunt and grandpa are all cancer survivors
it is a big issue in my family...
so THANK YOU sooo much for walking for my relatives

Good Luck today Hollie! Many of my friends have been doing their various walks over the past week (walkers not in NY) and have written so beautifully about their experience. I can't wait to hear about yours

There was just one in West Hempstead last week at the high school.
My high school aged sisters participated and my asst principal- her husband died of brain cancer last year... Best donation I ever made..

It just POURED here... DH and I are both determined to stay out all night, along with one of our team members. We're bringing lots of socks, sneakers, and pants.

maybe you can find cheap rain gear at walmart. i would have given you guys keiths that he never got to wear, but the guys at my mom's job took them!
