i believe the cnn article was who was more truthful... it seems that 74% who have taken the poll feel clinton had been.

Clinton was a good liar and charismatic.
Bush is a better liar..but they are all liars.
Bush has zero charisma-maybe that's why we don't like his lying.

While Clinton was a great president.... I truly believe he is partially to blame for 911.
Even though it actually happened on Dubya's watch... Clinton seriously cut back on tons of intelligence funding. This is one of the reasons why the economy improved (lack of spending).
But spending on intelligence IMO should never be cut. People can say all they want "they knew this was going to happen". But they would have been better prepared for exactly HOW it would happen if they had better intelligence reports.

obviously they've both had their faults: lies, drama, intrigue, scandal, etc.
but I think under the Bush administration there has been more cronyism by far- and yes- Clinton was guilty of that as well- but nothing to the effect of no-bid contracts to halliburton both in Iraq and in Katrina clean up.
While I cannot blame bush for 911- i would have hoped he would have learned a better lesson of response- but obviously not- look @ Katrina- and I do blame him for that.
edited to say- i don't know why I couldn't ignore this thread- I really have been TRYING not to write anything here b/c it gets me too heated.
I"m a sucker for the politics.

Also don't forget Clinton basically ignored intelligence on OBL, the Cole Bombing, Black Hawk Down/Africa. Numerous people died because Mr. Clinton ignored alot.

I agree- Clinton's response wasn't the best. However, what's a better reaction? Full-out war? I don't think in the mid to late 90s Clinton would be able to get full support for a war from Democrats or Republicans.. we have to remember that we cannot look at Clinton's tenure using post 9/11 standards- NO ONE was calling for stiff military action after Black Hawk or the Cole.
what's also funny is Clinton was pretty strict on Iraq- no one seems to remember that we bombed Iraq on a WEEKLY basis for Saddam violating the Gulf War agrements.
