Birthday card Etiquette Question..
dh's sister's birthday was this weekend and we had his family up at our house.
since i didnt get a chance to sign the card dh bought for her (and didnt want to ask out loud where it was), i grabbed a birthday card from my COSTCO box of cards, and wrote something very nice to her from me.
WHen it came time for her to open her present from us, dh gave her the 2 cards. One from him and one from me.
Later on he said he was "so embarrassed" beacause since we are married, we should sign the same card. He actually got MAD at me that i did this.
I dont get it? I wanted to write my own sentiments so I gave her my own card. Is that really weird? Or was he over reacting?
I was soo not expecting that reaction from him, especially since i wrote her something really nice in the card.

I can totally understand your situation. I do not see why he would be so mad especially if you told him why you gave your own card. On the other hand I can understand why he may feel the way he did but I still think it is not that a big of a deal given the situation.

I think he's making too much out of it. You didn't get a chance to sign the card he got and wrote out your own. IMO, if he wanted to be sure you signed the card, he should have given it to you.
Besides, you wanted to write something personal to her and I'm sure she loved it.
