I had to break up a fight today.
I'm so mad. THe teachers in our school have to do lunch and recess duty, and today and 8th grader was attacking a 6th grader at recess, and the other teacher on duty just IGNORED IT! So when I couldn't get the 8th grader to stop just by yelling, I had to grab him off the other kid. I was so afraid of getting hit or kicked. I was so freaked out. We've never had this happen before in our school since it's so small and the kids all usually get along, but this particular kid is TRYING to get kicked out. I was just so upset and afraid something was going to happen to me

I can't blame you! That took a lot of guts- I have broken up my share of middle school brawls too and I worry about what might happen if/when I am pg.

The best part was that I sent the kid to the headmaster, and by the time I had gotten there to speak to him, the kid had already made up some gigantic lie that he webbed himself in. I was so afraid of getting in trouble for grabbing him off the other kid, but my boss thanked me for doign the right thing. Figures the kid would do this when parent-teacher conferences are on Friday.

I am a dean in the Bronx. That is a regular occurrence.
All I can say is BACK AWAY!!
We don't get paid enough to get hurt!!
Please be careful. I had a little girl here take out 2 security guards during a fight because she was sooooo heated up.

Only a couple of people. i'm trying to wait until after the holidays to tell everyone. My bosses know and one of my close friends. That's it.
